We offer eyebrows Microblading at Escape Salon&Day Spa in Kitchener-Waterloo area.

Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery , feathering or 3D eyebrows tattoo, it is a manual, semi- permanent procedure that gives you the natural look that every woman yearns for.

Microblading it is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Because we are impacting color closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine.

You save a great deal of time without having to re-draw your eyebrows everyday, and still looking good 24/7. Spare the hassle of penciling, tinting and brow powder make-up – and waste no time on making that perfect arch.

Microblading can be used to thicken, and/or darken your existing eyebrows but because of the highly realistic nature of the hair strokes it is also ideal for clients with little or no real eyebrow hair.

People suffering from alopecia  or any other condition that causes hair loss benefit greatly from Microblading, as well as people who simply aren’t happy with their eyebrows.

The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow. Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over a two week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment.

CONSULTATION
The procedure starts with a conversation about your needs and expectations (form, colour, thickness). If you are not sure what shape or colour suits you better we will suggest the best solution for you. The next step is sterilizing the eyebrows area and drawing the shape  according to your face morphology and measuring with a Gold Ratio Divider so you can immediately see the shape of the best fits.

Photos are taken of drawn eyebrows so you can discuss the symmetry of your eyebrows and than eventually corrections are done.  Nobody’s face is totally symmetrical and you need to be realistic with your expectations.

After you will fall in love with your new look and consent to go forward, the procedure start.

Mcroblading is NOT recommended for any clients who are or have:

  • Pregnant or nursing
  • Diabetic
  • Undergoing Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
  • Viral infections and/or diseases
  • Epilepsy
  • A Pacemaker or major heart problems
  • Had an Organ transplant
  • Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)
  • Sick (cold, flu, etc.)
  • Had Botox in the past 2 months

 Before eyebrows Microblading

  • Do not work out the day of the procedure.
  • Do not tan or have sunburned face.
  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure.
  • No alcohol or caffeine on the day of the procedure.
  • No waxing or tinting 3 days before.
  • Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

Microblading Treatment and after care

Your brows are approximately 20-40% darker, bolder and more solid than your healed result at first few days.  There may be minimal swelling but because typically the eyebrow area does not retain much fluid, swelling will be limited.

Residual pigment, blood, white blood cells, etc, can arise from the open wound. 30 minutes after the procedure is done, the eyebrow area will be cleaned and after care medical  silicon will be gently applied. After care medical silicon is a flexible, modern plaster that evaporates water and gases and in the same time protects the skin from the moist and bacteria.

Post-treatment care is much more comfortable for the client because there is no rinsing and re-applying of the aftercare.

After 24 hours of treatment, we ask the client to wash the skin gently with warm water and remove after care medical silicon and start using the after care balm provided.

  • NO water, cleansers, creams, make-up or any other products on treated area for 10 days.
  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after procedure.
  • Avoid heavy sweating for the first 10 days.
  • NO facials, botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.
  • Don’t panic if dry patches or scabs appear.

From day 3, the top layers of skin will begin to shed  and you will see a loss of color. This is normal. Your eyebrows may begin to itch and the pigment may appear somewhat raised. Do not scratch/ pick!

After 4th day the skin is rapidly exfoliating and will shed evenly if left alone. The color under the exfoliating skin will continue to appear light until the epidermis takes on its more transparent characteristics.Procedures may take longer than expected to be complete under some circumstances.

The better condition your skin is in, the better the final result will be.

Mature clients may need an additional one to two weeks healing for the final results to appear. The better you take care of your skin and protect it from UV rays, the better the outcome and lifespan of the next treatment.

First touch up

After 4 weeks skin is healed and we can do the touch up. Please make sure you make your first touch up appointment on  time to avoid any delay.During the first 3 weeks a 20 – 40% of the attached pigments has been lost as explained. Touch up is necessary to fill up lost pigment.

Pigment retention depends on skin type, age, aftercare, sun exposure, use of certain skin products, pigments used, immune system, medications and other factors. Everyone’s skin heals differently and most clients develop patchy areas or the appearance of fading after the first treatment.  It is important to understand that this is a two part process and the second, Touch Up Treatment will complete the procedure and, after healing, you will see the finished result.  PLEASE BE PATIENT AND DON’T PANIC!

Long term care Microblading

  • Use a good sunscreen, sun exposure will fade your semi-permanent makeup.

  • If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure, please inform the technician of your semi-permanent makeup.

  • The use of RetinA/Tretinoin or any other rapid skin exfoliation products used regularly on the forehead area will cause the  eyebrows  to fade prematurely.

  • The use of chemical peels and acid peels regularly on the forehead region can also cause eyebrow tattoos to fade prematurely.
